We thought
over the years that mac OS is the safest Operating System we have in the world
today. It was, when they didn’t know yet about this Flashback Trojan. Dr. Web a
Russian based Antivirus Company revealed this serious security vulnerability in
all Macintosh powered devices.

Trojan already infected 600k MAC users the 50% of infected machines comes from
the US and the rest are MAC users from all over the world. This malicious
program can easily acquire in a pc by just downloading an infected file or just
by simply clicking a link containing this virus. But this version of trojan who
hits thousands of MAC users is far more advanced than the ordinary one, because
it can easily get viral by running itself as a fake update in a mac computer
without noticing by its owner that the virus is already installed in their
system.
Once your computer is infected it will be part of a large botnet that can be used
to control your pc to do some illegal
activities like taking down a website using a Ddos attack, clicking
advertisement, scraping victims personal information, etc.
Apple takes a quick action about this virus by releasing a
patch to eliminate this on their devices. The first patch has been released
last February and April 5 for the 2nd update of their patch. It’s a very
important task for every MAC users to enable the auto update of their device to
download the said security updates made by APPLE.
There is no exact solution or method to get rid of this malware, because in some reports majority of the users owned an infected MAC device didn't do anything like downloading files and clicking links. Installing the patch is the best thing to do to stop this anoying Flashback trojan on running in your device.
